Platinum rating for sustainability certification “Zero Waste to Landfill” for EPIROS SA

The first Greek cheese products company that has been certified with this standard.

EPIROS SA, one of the biggest Greek cheese products companies, has recently received the highest sustainability certification “Zero Waste to Landfill – Platinum” from the European Control & Certification Company EUROCERT for its three factories in Arta, Domokos and Elassona.

The group’s 3 facilities, which produce and package dairy products, were certified with the Zero Waste to Landfill Standard (ZWTL-EU1) receiving the highest, “Platinum”, rating. This means that more than 99% of the factories’ waste mass is recycled, reused, and directed towards the production of biogas or compost, while less than 1% of it ends up in landfills.

It is worth noting that EPIROS is the first Greek dairy and cheese products company that has been certified with this standard, which proves in practice the company’s dedication towards the full implementation of the principles of circular economy, sustainable development, and the search for innovative solutions, with the ultimate goal of a zero-carbon environmental footprint.
