- 100-120g EPIROS Kaseri, coarsely grated
- 8 slices stale white bread
- 4 slices ham
- 1½ tea cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- Oil for frying
Break the eggs in bowl, add 2-3 spoonfuls of milk, salt and beat. In a second bowl pour the remaining milk.
Put the oil in a large frying pan, on Moderate heat and when it sizzles, dip 4 slices of bread into the milk, then into the egg and then place them in the frying pan. When they turn golden brown on one side, flip them over.
Remove and place on a dish lined with kitchen paper and immediately sprinkle with the grated cheese so that it melts. Place a slice of ham on top of each of two slices of bread and cover with the other two slices.
Then prepare the remaining 4 slices in the same way. Serve immediately.
If you prefer your French toast sweet, spread them with feta cheese or light feta and pour honey over them.
